How do teen period undies work?
Teen period undies work just like regular knickers, except they're absorbent with a leak proof lining to stop you bleeding through onto your clothes.
They replace pads and tampons totally!
You don't need to wear a pad with these, just make sure you choose the correct absorbency level for your flow. We have regular flow options, plus heavy flow options such as our bamboo period shorts, boybrief and sporty cotton versions.
If you have really heavy periods (bleeding through a regular tampon in an hour for example) then these can also be used as a backup to a tampon or menstrual cup.
How to wash teen period knickers?
The most critical point to note with period blood is that it MUST be washed with cold water. Washing at 40c or more will 'set' the blood stain as blood is a protein stain.
We recommend that you rinse your knickers by hand immediately after wearing, or soak in cold water overnight before washing.
Then wash in a decent length wash, max 30c with your normal detergent and some stain remover.
Avoid fabric softeners and air dry where possible.
Top tip: Turning inside out helps them dry faster!
